British Chevening Scholarship Programme for Indian students to study in UK

The Chevening scholarship was established in 1983. India is one of the first countries which provide scholars to UK. In world British Chevening scholarship is the second largest scholarship program. United Kingdom every year provide scholarship around thousand leaders from over one hundred thirty countries, it is one of the top scholarship in the world. The scholarship offers to candidate to undertake post graduate study in leading universities of world. This programme supports two thousand individual from across world to study in United Kingdom. In UK about 50 Indian students receive financial assistance for the duration of their studies every year.From last 26 years the Chevening programme provides more than thirty thousand scholarships at higher education in United Kingdom.

The finance to this program is provided by foreign and commonwealth office and this is managed by the British council.  From last few years they provide unique opportunity to talented Indian student to study in Britain, UK. The annual budget of the scholarship is 1.5 million dollar and is given 120 students every year. The main aim of British Chevening scholarship is to offer an opportunity to Indian student who want to learn or train in UK, to achieve their goals by providing financial assistance. This scholarship is given to short term professional courses and long termacademic courses.

Long term scholarship is only applicable to one year post graduate study (Master degree) at any UK University and this course is fully financed by FCO. This scholarship is only given to following program like Indian Friends of London School of Economics Shared Scholarships, Open Science and Innovation Scholarships,Finance and Public administration Scholarships,Open Economic Governance, and Open Sustainable Development Scholarships. The scholarship is given to 120 students, 60 for long term academic courses and 60 for short term professional courses.
